Directors


ELIO GUTIÉRREZ

Episode 1

Elio is an Actor and an aspiring Director in the greater Sacramento area.  He is humbled and thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with such an awesome and creative group of folk on Boxed Up!  In the last four years Elio has directed several successful productions: (Evil Dead the Musical, Legally Blonde, Cabaret, Cinderella) in or around Sacramento and acted at various theaters as well (Green Valley Theatre, Woodland Opera House, Light Opera of Sacramento, Sutter Street).  Most recently he formed part of a Teatro Nagual's production of Cesar Chavez and Ruben Salazar, written and produced Ed Begley Junior.  He is grateful that you are here and hopes that you enjoy the first episode of Boxed Up!

Connor Mickiewicz

Episode 2

Connor is the founding artistic director of New Helvetia Theatre. NHT directing credits include Marry Me A Little, Passion, Merrily We Roll Along, Little Fish, and It’s Only Life. Other directing credits include Cristo Rey High School, Christian Brothers High School, Asclepius Productions, and Capital Stage’s Playwrights’ Revolution festival. Acting credits include Albert in The Behavior of Broadus (Capital Stage), Warren in Ordinary Days and Jeff in [title of show] (NHT)and Nick in The Great Gatsby (Sac Ballet) as well as productions with B Street Theatre and Music Circus.

 

Ryan Perez Adame

Episode 3

Ryan has performed and directed at theaters across the region over the past 15 years, including: B Street Theatre, Sutter Street Theatre, Magic Circle/Civic Theatre West/Roseville Theatre Arts, Rocklin Community Theatre, Davis Musical Theatre, the Studio Theatre, and Woodland Opera House. Ryan is a 14-time SARTA Elly Award nominee in both performance and production, including two wins in acting (Albin in La Cage aux Folles and Aldolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone) and two wins in direction (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying). Other directing credits include: The Drowsy ChaperoneThe Addams FamilyYoung Frankenstein, and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change. Ryan is an incoming MFA-Acting student at the California Institute of the Arts and proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.  

Kellie Yvonne Raines

Episode 4

Kellie is a local actor, director, playwright, and visual artist. She is an Associate Artist with KOLT Run Creations for which she directed The Adoration of Dora. Her KOLT performance credits include Escape from Happiness, Vinegar TomAntigone, and My Own Stranger. Other notable performances include MotherF**ker With The Hat and The Underpants (Big Idea Theatre), Hamlet (Theater Galatea), and God's Ear and Five Women Wearing the Same Dress (Resurrection Theatre). She has a bachelor's degree in Dramatic Art from the University of California, Davis. She can also be seen on-air for KVIE Public Television. 

Shannon Mahoney

Episode 5

Shannon is thrilled to be a part of BOXED UP.   Favorite directing credits include Santaland DiariesRapture Blister Burn, choreography and movement for Stupid F##king Bird, Mr. Burns, Anna Karenina and Enron at Capital Stage Theatre Company. Sense and Sensibility at STC, The Night AliveNew JerusalemProof, and Dancing as Lugnasa with Big Idea Theatre and Naomi in the Living Room and The Complete History of America (ABRIDGED) at Six Chairs (Los Angeles).  She cofounded Big Idea Theatre and remains a proud company member.  Shannon received her MFA from California State University Fullerton. 

Joelle Robertson

Episode 6

Joelle is thrilled to not only be the final director on BOXED UP, but also Co-Producer for the entire series. Joelle has been a proud company member of Artistic Differences and Big Idea Theatre. Directing credits include: Trevor (Big Idea Theatre). Acting credits include: Jeannie in HAIR: The Tribal Love Rock Musical (Artistic Differences), Nadia in Bare: A Pop Opera (Artistic Differences), the Acid Queen in Tommy: In Concert (Artistic Differences), Emma Goldman in Assassins (Artistic Differences), The Homeless Woman in A New Brain (Green Valley Theatre Company), Louise in The Underpants (Big Idea Theatre), Maggie in Red Herring (Big Idea Theatre), Inez in No Exit (Big Idea Theatre), Emma in Lizzie (The Actor’s Playpen.
